Led by Peel NRE’s district heat network specialist Ener-Vate, the project is set to become a major part of Liverpool’s low carbon energy infrastructure.

Plans to connect the next phase of Peel NRE’s Mersey Heat network have been approved by Liverpool City Council.

Residents and businesses at Stanley Dock in Liverpool are set to benefit from low-cost heating and hot water following a deal to bring a low-carbon district heat network to the area.

Peel Energy, part of Peel L&P, has been awarded £1.3m of external funding towards the phase one delivery of its Mersey Heat network in Liverpool to reduce carbon emissions and help make the City Region a greener place.

Peel Energy has appointed renewable energy company Vital Energi to deliver its Mersey Heat network which will provide heat for up to 9,000 homes and 4m sq ft of commercial space at Liverpool Waters.
